The Owners

Tony and Judy Lane bought Nougayrede Bas in 2001, since when we have renewed it throughout. It dates from the C17, we believe, and it may always have borne that name. It was a working farm up until the early 1970s, after which the house was used for many years as an artist's studio.

For us, it was a retirement project, and we found the work of refurbishment hard but satisfying. Living in Sussex, we use it for entertaining and family parties, as well as for letting.

We love the solid dignity of its architecture, its all-round panorama, and the constantly-changing light on the surrounding hills and valleys. We love to hear that our visitors enjoy them equally.
