Montcuq

Montcuq is the nearest town, visible 2 miles away across the valley, and reached in 5 minutes by car.

It is a former mediaeval stronghold, standing on a cone-shaped hill, and dominated by its castle tower. It was occupied by English armies in the 100 years war, but today it has a tranquil atmosphere all its own, with a tree-lined high street curving round the hill.
